Project Empathy is a virtual reality (VR) film series that explores the U.S. Prison System. Through three compelling VR films by award-winning directors, Project Empathy will invite audiences to walk in someone else’s shoes, in order to better understand mass incarceration in America.
Virtual reality (commonly known as “VR”) allows audience members to feel like they are actually in another place and as if they have become another person. It is a 360 degree (and 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional) view of a new world. Unlike traditional media, VR allows us to be a participant in a new world, not just a viewer. This is the power we are harnessing for Project Empathy.
